And what better way to talk about success, than to have the event hosted by the familiar face of local Toronto Much Music VJ Phoebe Dykstra?
And with familiar Toronto faces, it would only also make sense to start the night of performances with no one other than rising artist BRENDN.
With up-beat tunes, fun lyrics, and his own sense of charm, BRENDN was definitely a crowd pleaser, interacting with the audience and calling his fans his #LittleBs (or was it #LILBs)?
The 18-year-old Hamilton native definitely got the party started (and the girls screaming) with the performance of his hit song “Make Out With Me“. (Also, how could we forget the kiss on the cheek he gave an audience member after she put some lipstick on him?
And of course, girls screamed when Phoebe was reunited with the familiar face of ex-Much Music VJ Jesse Giddings – who excitedly took to the stage!
Jesse, who’s gone far from his time at Much Music, has now gone from talking about music to making his own. Going from being in front of the camera to onto a stage, has seen Jesse performing with the likes of Marianas Trench, Down With Webster, Joe Jonas, All Time Low, and Hot Chelle Rae.
With his performance of Sunshine, Jesse gave fans a great taste of his music stylings (his upcoming EP BRIGHTER is out this spring).
To cap off the performances was none other than Eleven Past One! The band made up of five members, Daniel Richter (vocals), Steve Patenaude (drums), Stephen Richter (guitar), Kyle Bykiv (guitar), and Dan Beattie (bass), may be from the small town of Bowmanville, but they’ve definitely left a big mark.
With the recent release of their single The World Is Ours Eleven Past One is definitely a name you’ll be hearing more often.
